- Provided the matching funds so the Community Center of South Decatur (CCSD) could access a grant and renovate the Elizabeth Wilson House.
- Provided tents and other support for class act 1980 to hold three festivals in the Oakhurst business district.
- Created a micro-loan fund to help businesses in Oakhurst.
- Obtained, renovated and sold 350 Mead Rd. which was a mainly deserted eyesore in the community.
- Assisted the city in establishing a Public Safety Office in the Oakhurst business district.
- Worked with Ga. Power and the City to improve lighting in the business dist.
- Provided seed money to start the Oakhurst Leaflet
- Provided money to start the 5k Run in Oakhurts.
- Provided some small grants for community projects.
- Sponsored and organized the Oakhurst Arts and Music Festival.
- Participated in the planning for the old Scottish Rite facility.
- Loaned money to the Oakhurst Community Gardens to enable it to purchase property for the gardens expansion.
- Granted money to the CCSD for completion of the interior of the Solarium.
When the SDCDC was established and the first grant received from the City of Decatur, the Commissioners asked the Tank Force to commit to being long-term, not just a two or three year organization. Celebrating its ten-year anniversary in 2003, SDCDC has continued to be committed to assisting with long-term improvements in the South Decatur Community.
